Doll Wig Brushes
We send a special doll brush in each kit because a wire wig brush is specifically designed to detangle and smooth the delicate synthetic fibers of the American Girl doll’s wig without causing frizz or breakage. The brush is essential to help a child care for their doll so it looks its best and lasts a long time.
As of July 2026 we really need brushes in order to complete our goal to assemble 200 doll kits for 2026 holiday deliveries!

Doll Cleaning Supplies
Our volunteers lovingly restore each doll to a clean and playable condition. This involves washing the doll with gentle cleanser and special cleaning pads, re-stringing the limbs with elastic and crimps, and removing ink from the vinyl limbs. We also use deep conditioner and lots of water to revitalize doll hair.

American Girl Dolls
We accept new or used 18” American Girl dolls and Bitty Baby dolls in any condition — our volunteers lovingly restore each one. Whether the doll needs tightened limbs, a new wig, or ink removal, we can bring it back to life for a child who needs a companion.

Doll Clothing & Accessories
We send a variety of 10-12 outfits with every doll kit! Pieces include a fancy meet outfit, dresses, pants, skirts, T-shirts, pajamas, and underwear. With these items a child can mix and match to dress their doll for school, bedtime, and adventures.
We love donations of handmade clothing! We welcome gently-used or new doll clothing, shoes, and accessories to fit an 18″doll or Bitty Baby doll.
You can make entire outfits or separate pieces. For example, you can make multiple pants and we will match them up with tops that we have in our supply of donations. We prefer velcro closures for easy on/off. We love to get knitted or crocheted items like doll slippers, ponchos, and sweaters.

Doll Bedding
A doll blanket or sleeping bag allows a child to comfort their doll friend and give it
a cozy place to rest. The blanket should fit a 18” doll and all varieties of crocheted blankets and handmade quilts/sleeping bags are welcomed.

Chapter Books
Each kit includes a chapter book for the child to read alongside their doll. We love American Girl series books and other age-appropriate titles in good condition. Books spark imagination and foster a love for literacy! Donations of books in new or good used condition are needed.

Every kit is delivered in a bag the child can carry their doll in — it signals that this gift is theirs to keep and treasure. Durable tote bags or zippered bags large enough for an 18″ doll and its accessories are all welcome.
