Mexico Donation Visit: "When I took doll kits to Mexico, I watched two sisters look through the doll wardrobes. Their favorite items were the sweaters. They gushed over them and how cute and tiny they were. I told them that a 'special grandma' had knitted the sweaters for their dolls."

Provost Elementary, Provo, December 2024: "We (the office staff) loved getting the project organized and hearing the parents' comments. My favorite was a sweet lady who is new to the country from South America. She told me that her child had written to El Niño Dios (Baby Jesus) the prior day and asked for a doll with lots of dresses. When the lady saw the doll she was so happy that it was her same skin color. She said, 'Wow, El Niño Dios is real.' This experience melted my heart.

Common Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions about our doll kits and how you can help.

How can I donate?

You can donate by clicking the donation button on our website. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference in bringing comfort to children in need. You can donate new or used American Girl dolls by sending them to us. You can donate any of the other items for our doll kits: handmade or store bought doll clothes, chapter books (like American Girl or other book appropriate for ages 6-10), carrying bags, and doll quilts or sleeping bags.

What do the kits include?

Each kit contains a carrying case (like a small duffle bag), an American Girl doll dressed in a fancy meet outfit, panties, and shoes, plus 10 outfits, pajamas, a doll wig brush, 4 pairs of shoes, a doll quilt and sleeping bag, and a chapter book.

What's the best way to ship donations to you?

If you’re local, please contact us via email to drop off things in person.

You can use UPS or USPS, but we recommend using our discounted shipping option via GiveBackBox.com where you purchase a shipping label through their site. We are listed on the second page of Children’s Charities. You can ship a box of up to 70 lbs for $25.00

Where do the donations go?

Donations directly fund our programs, allowing us to create and distribute doll kits to children in vulnerable situations across our community.

Currently we provide doll kits to children in Utah Foster Care, selected children at Title I elementary schools in Utah, Native American children, and refugee children. We have sent 30 doll kits to Baja Mexico to be distributed by participants on humanitarian trips.

Can I request a kit for someone?

Yes, if you know a child who would benefit from our kits, please reach out to us via email so we can assist.
